The Lilly Loray girls are big fans of giving old, tired furniture a new lease of life. We also take joy in surrounding ourselves with bright, pretty colours in any way we can. That's why we love these examples of a fun and vibrant way you can revamp your dining furniture. Whether you use paint or re-upholster with different fabrics, we think rainbow dining is definitely the way forward this Summer! 

Lift Me Up!

If you're looking for a little extra height this Summer, we don't think you can go far wrong with a pair of chunky platforms or wedges. They give you the lift you need and are often surprisingly comfortable and easy to walk in. We think they're the perfect accessory to a floaty summer dress, or if you're feeling a little boho, team with a pair of flares! We'll be looking for a pastel pair with a cork heel!

Lavender Lemonade, Yum yum!

This weekend we were searching for a creative soft drink to quench our thirst when we came across this gorgeous treat! It's home made, sugary sweet and looks incredible. The lilac lavender gives it a lovely vintage twist that we just love! This batch is even served with our favourite straws. What's not to love? We'll be drinking this all summer long.

Ingredients

2 cups water

1/2 cup sugar

1/4 cup agave nectar (or honey)

3 Tbsp dried lavender

2 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice

4 cups water

1 lemon, sliced (for garnish)

Over medium heat, combine two cups of water and sugar, bringing to a boil until sugar is dissolved.  Remove from heat and stir in agave nectar and dried lavender.  Cover for about 15 minutes, allowing mixture to steep.  Strain lavender, making sure to release all juices and syrup.

In a large pitcher, combine freshly squeezed lemon juice, lavender mixture and water.  Feel free to add a drop of blue coloring and a drop of red to mixture to give it a lovely purple colour.  Chill for at least 2 hours and serve over ice.  Enjoy!

Phone Bags

As much as we are in love with all things vintage, we are also aware of the importance of modern technology. Us ladies don't know where we would be if it weren't for our beloved iPhones and Androids, this week we're featuring little bags and pouches to protect our cherished gadgets. We love the felt retro telephone pouch and how beautiful is the pink polkadot bag by the one and only Marc Jacobs?! That's going straight on our wish list! 

The Sheepskin Rug

The sheepskin rug is something that's drifted in and out of fashion since the 20's with a re-surge in the 1970's. We think that in the right room it can be the perfect accent. The soft fluffy cloud-like appearance can make a hard, minimalist interior seem instantly cosy! As long as you look after them properly we predict they will keep you in style over the years to come. We might even go on the hunt for one ourselves, faux obviously!
